Tales from the Trail – Join the Via Alpina Photo and Video Campaign and celebrate 25 years of Via Alpina!
This summer, Via Alpina invites hikers, adventurers, and mountain lovers to take part in Tales from the Trail, a photo and video campaign that celebrates personal experiences along the Via Alpina. Through this open call, we aim to gather and share stories from the trail — moments of awe, connection, challenge, and beauty — as seen and felt by those who walk it. Whether you’ve captured a dramatic landscape, a meaningful encounter, or a quiet moment in nature, we’d love to feature it on our social media channels!
Why participate?
The Alps are not just a destination, but a living, shared space that connects people and cultures across borders. Tales from the Trail offers a way to contribute to the growing Via Alpina community and inspire others to discover this unique long-distance hiking route in a personal and sustainable way. Your contributions will be featured on Via Alpina’s social media channels and help document the experience of hiking through the Alpine region in an authentic, community-driven campaign.
What are prizes?
A panel of judges will then select a winner for first, second and third place.
- Place: Marmota Book of the Alps (ENG or DE) and a night with half board in Gafadura-Hütte Liechtenstein.
- Place: Marmota Book of the Alps (ENG or DE) + ‘All inclusive’ adventure passes Liechtenstein

By submitting your content, you grant Via Alpina permission to publish it on our social media platforms and website. Ownership remains with the original creator, and proper credit will be given wherever possible.
Timeline
The campaign will run from June through October 2025, encouraging hikers to share their stories throughout the peak hiking season. Entries will be published continuously during this period.
