Signage on this last leg, especially on arrival in Monaco, has changed a lot compared to the GPX track. But we find ourselves there anyway. And the guestbook of Via Alpina awaits you at the ticket office of the exotic garden, just ask.

Nobody at the ticket counter knew anything about a Via Alpinabook, just as little as the info before. Even the tourist information has never heard of it.

    Monaco- Trieste

It is possible to take the elevators in Monaco to reach the Jardin Exotique. The ticket booth has the Via Alpina signing book. The trail to la Turbie is easy to follow. There is a trail at the southern edge of Peillon that goes down the hill/south. There, there is a camping platz called "Camping de La Laune" close to a 30 Minute walk downhill.

Aucun balisage.

No markup. The signpost of the General Council lies below the path ... I lost a lot of time before arriving at La Gorra. At La Turbie, no sign of Via Alpina and no one could inform me! I was expecting to finish in apotheosis, but the Via Alpina ended up in disguise and I was really exasperated when I arrived at the Exotic Garden. For me, the terminus of the VA should be in Sospel, as long as the signaling will not be fully restored on the last two stages. I have unfortunately noticed that the comments of hikers remain a dead letter. I hope my criticisms will push the VA to regenerate, which would increase its attendance, close to zero. It was, originally, such a beautiful initiative ...

    Monaco towards Trieste

Via Alpina starts at Le Jardin Exotique in the upper Monaco...few elevators to take to reach the first GR markers.. Going to La turbie is very steep way up.
Leaving la turbie to Col de guerre the trail is very poorly marked to reach Peillon. Without GPS or paying attention to detailed map...good chances to get on the wrong trail

The GPX file for this stage is very useful, and I can recommend it. The Via Alpina in Monaco follows a different path than shown on this website. You can find it on www.lonvia.de and download the GPX file for that part. There is a hotel in Peillon, but it is expensive.

When searching the way from La Gorra to Col de Guerre, don't follow a small unmarked hiking path. The right path is found after entering an area with a car-gate and is marked by a way sign aiming to the La Turbie!

To find the right way down to Monaco at La Turbie after following the main street for a few minutes, you have to take the smaller left road when seeing a path marker attached at a road sign in the middle of the forking.

Who goes from the palace in Monaco to La Turbie reaches just past the Place d'Armes at a construction site. If we here on the left side of the road in the direction of walking the Avenue Prince Pierre continued, leads directly to a staircase that leads up to the boulevard Rainier III. Located right next after a few meters the next Via Alpina sign.

Bonjour. Dommage.

Good afternoon. This morning I wanted to walk along the Via Alpina starting from the place du Jardin Exotique La Turbie. I regret to tell you that this is the total abandonment. No tags for forks, lack of debroussaillage .... Finally, I have not managed to individuate the course and yet I wanted to borrow all the roads and paths, going and returning, seeking Beacons. Damage.
