Hot day on the route with very little height difference and crossing some beautiful villages. Source and small inn in the hamlet of Bottazzo (Val Rosandra). Surprise arrival at Villa Opicina ... With maintenance costs become too high, it only remains that the tram rails and parked behind gates on Avenue train leading to the Obelisk! ... The description sounded like we would find the old railroad bed at or very near Bottazzo, when actually it was necessary to turn uphill just before the trattoria and hike up for 20-30 minutes before reaching the railroad bed. To continue upwards from there, turn right and go through the tunnel(s?) to find trail 1 to the left.

On 06/07/12 after 2nd Went to stay in Trieste Bagnioli by bus. The path through the Rosandraschlucht is very nice. In Botazzo one must ascend to the left (do not go straight to Slovenia). On the railway line I have not found the far way. I went instead Dess left alongside the railway line to the left of the path no crosses 15th I followed the right to San Lorenzo. In Villa Opicina I would recommend this hotel Daneu

    Suggestion for accommodation in Trieste?

Stage 2 was mainly on good paths through woodland. We stayed again at the Alabarda, having got to the start of the stage by bus from Trieste. To get back to Trieste from Opicina, we took the old tram, a real treat, particularly the way it has to be changed from electric overhead power to the ratchet system at the steep middle section. Weather hot and sultry, with heavy downpours. The sea views were great.
