R154 Caprauna » Colle di Nava
  |   3h10   |   10.8 km   |   372 m   |   497 m

This trail is undemanding. Apart from an initial uphill stretch from Caprauna to the Madonna Guarneri chapel the trail is wide and comfortable. The landscape is somewhat harsh initially with many limestone outcrops. But after the Caprauna pass the scenery is milder, being mostly fields. Along the way are two beautiful isolated chapels, the abovementioned Madonna Guarneri and the chapel of San Bernardo d'Armo. This leg is practicable by mountain bike, too from Caprauna to Colle di Nava.

Other long-distance trails and alternative routes
From the Caprauna pass to the Nava pass, the trail follows the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. Alternative: from the Bocchino di Semola gap, one can climb west on the grassy watershed and reach, in about 20 min., the vast top of Monte Ariolo (1221 m) which offers a splendid view. From the top, go down on the south-western ridge along a dirt track, and reach the main trail between San Bernardo d'Armo and the Nava pass.

There is an error: no trail on the left but one on the right, signposted AV, much lower down the road, which goes down into the forest, crosses the road and continues with a wide road running under two wind turbines and leading to San Bernardo d'Armo.
