Beyond Alpe Devero the trail goes through thin woods to Piana della Rossa. The landscape here is harsh and having passed a large number of lakes, the trail leads to the Rossa or Geisspfad pass, on the Swiss border. Continue towards the right past the Geisspfadsee and Mässersee lakes to the Mässeralp. Head downhill through the wood to reach Binn, which is famous for the Lengbach mineral mine.

The stage hiked from Binn to Crampiolo / Alpe Devero. Due to very poor visibility in the morning you should walk over the Albrunpass instead of the Geisspfadpass. This is recommended by all local residents. Nevertheless, very nice hike through the Binntal past the Binntalhütte over the Albrunpass. Overnight in Crampiolo in the Albergo La Baita ( - Great albergo, great food and very nice operator.

The sign in Alpe Devero gives 6:20 to Binn. We needed even more time due to rocky landscape (see also comment of Mountain Gril). Beautiful tour however!

Attention: The times are not right. The height information also not. Passo della Rosa is 2474 meters above sea level. It is mgl. to go straight from Bivacco to the pass. And care in poor visibility. First you have to go through a rock face and then through the boulder field. I can imagine that this gives problems in poor visibility.

Much of this stage is spent on boulder fields. Unless you're a skilled rock-hopper, plan on a long day. I found this stage to be much more demanding than the distance or elevation gain would suggest. It's also a long descent into the valley. The charming Binntal and Binn itself made it worthwhile however.
