The trip
The excursionist circuit of Occitan Journeys stems from the restoration of ancient paths, once the principal means of communication. We are suggesting the upper route: an exciting journey through nature, art, rural architecture and local eno-gastronomy.
1st day. Arrival and accommodation in Acceglio
2nd day. The fascinating profile of Rocca la Meja
Chialvetta - Preit Pass (about 3 hours; disparity in altitude +950 m -400 m)
3rd day. The military road and the high-altitude pastures
Preit Pass - Finello (about 7 hours; disparity in altitude +450 m -1200 m)
4th day. Along the Napoleonic way
Finello - Palent (about 4 hours; disparity in altitude +500 m -300 m)
5th day. Stroppo, the medieval capital of the valley
Palent - Ruata Valley (about 4 hours; disparity in altitude +450 m -500 m)
6th day. The ancient lazar house of Caudano
Ruata Valley - Macra (about 4 hours; disparity in altitude +450 m -850 m)
