Pre-announcement: 3rd edition of the Via Alpina Travel Fellowships

Thanks to the Via Alpina Travel Fellowships, the Randocabo team is currently on its way. The mapping party currently goes on at a virtual level (collection of data among the OpenStreetMap community) due to Mayeul Kauffmann being injured. The 3rd laureate, Andrea Pasqualotto, plans to be walking from 21 August to 3 September.  And the call for projects for 2013 will open soon!

The 2013 fellowships will go to four projects promoting hiking in stages and the “Spirit of Via Alpina”: meeting people and cultures in the Alps, discovering Alpine nature on foot, linking between the various countries, sustainable development and soft tourism. They may be complete crossings or the Alps or actions of a more limited geographical and temporal scope, but will in any case need to have a strong media impact, so as to allow the transmission of these experiences to many people. This year again, one fellowship will be especially earmarked for a project realised by or for children or young people (3-18 years).

The call for projects and all details will be published on this website on 31 August, for a receipt of applications on 15 November. The fellowships, amounting to 1000 Euros each, will be awarded by an international selection committee in January 2013 for a realisation of the projects during the summer. Watch this space!
